Why did I choose my major?

Since I was a little girl I always had doubts about what I wanted to be as an adult, I liked many things and I couldn't choose only one. I always felt attracted to scientific careers and not to humanities, so when I grew up and people asked me "what I wanted to be", I had to choose an option and it was: Civil Engineering .

When present the PDT and they published the results, I still wasn't sure which majors to apply for, even though I liked Engineering, so I went with my mom to a fair for applicants at the Universidad de Chile  and I spoke with the students of different faculties and one that I liked the most was Architecture and therefore, that was the one I chose. I feel very happy with that choice because I feel that my personality adapts quite well to what this degree is.

What is my favorite meal? For me the hamburger is the best food in the world. The preparation of a hamburger basically consists of a juicy and tasty ground meat in a round and flattened shape with two bread tops, and for its filling a variety of ingredients can be added, such as melted cheese, crispy bacon, vegetables, sauces (in my preference only mayo and ketchup), etc. Definitely it's the best food, because you can always change its filling thus making it a personalized creation. However, it has a negative point and that is that excessive consumption of hamburgers can have negative effects on health. Burgers are often high in saturated fat, sodium, and calories, which can contribute to weight gain and health problems like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, but! if consumed in moderation and healthier options are chosen, it can be enjoyed without seriously compromising health.   What’s my dream Job? Firts of all, my drean job I think it has relation with the major that Im studying at the moment (Architecture). One of the areas of the Architecure   that I like more is structuralist architecure, because it consist not only to desing buildings. Involves a profound compression of the interaction between the form and funsion, focusing on the strenght, stabiliy, and security of the structures. To be able to work as estructuralist architec it`s necessary to have knowledge of mathematics and physics , so it’s not easy this area really. About the salary, it depends of the years of experience and the company in which you work, but generally they are between one million and 2 two thousand Chilean pesos, in my opinion   It's a bit low for the responsibility that comes with it. Finally, maybe in sixth semestre will choose a subject that has relation with the structures and desing, I think that this field of the career it’s so interesting because I ca...

What's my favorite piece of technology ? Undoubtedly my favorite piece of technology is my smartphone, I use it all day at all hours... Basically I could say that I am a bit addicted to it, because it is very functional and offers me many benefits, such as: being in contact with my friends and family all the time, permits me take a so many photos and videos, I can download games, music and social media apps, it contains a calculator and a endless number of functions more.  My life have changed so much since I had my first phone, it’s like a mini portable computer that helps me with any necessity that I could have.  Would I recommend using it ? Of course!!! The smartphone it’s the best incredible invention that humans did, and the best part is that every day exist more versions and models with different colours and sizes of this piece of technology. My first cellphone was a BlackBerry. 😆
